Most adults can safely use a massage chair. Do not use the device if you are pregnant, wear a pacemaker, have open wounds, or suffer from thrombosis or severe osteoporosis. Children under 12 should not use the chair unsupervised. If in doubt: always consult your general practitioner.

The dimensions vary per model. For example, the Calma in an upright position is 73 cm wide, 147 cm deep, and 97 cm high. In zero-gravity position, the depth increases to approximately 160 cm.
